Skin Exam for the Primary Care Provider  - CME 

Purpose:

The purpose of this activity is to provide education on total body skin exams for the primary care provider at Parkview Health.

 

Instructions:

Please watch the video. You will be required to complete the post-test, commitment to change, and credit attestation to receive CME credit. A post-test score of 80% will be required to claim credit. This activity will be accessible until 6/23/2022.

 

Objectives:

  • By the end of the event, participants will be able to:

  • Demonstrate performance of a full body skin exam in family practice setting

  • Identify both common non-cancerous and precancerous/cancerous lesions that a primary care clinician may encounter

  • Discuss techniques for maximizing the patient experience and comfort while performing a vulnerable patient exam

  • Explain the referral process to Dermatology at Parkview

 

Target Audience: Primary Care Providers

Professional Practice Gap:The total body skin exam is not routinely performed in primary care settings.

Educational Need: Lack of knowledge with current best practice performing skin exams in the primary care outpatient setting.
