Introduction to Simulation - Faculty Development

Purpose:
The purpose of this quest is to introduce healthcare educators to the basics of simulation-based education.
Instructions:
Please watch the video. You will be required to complete the post-test, commitment to change, and credit attestation to receive CME credit. A post-test score of 80% will be required to claim credit. This activity will be accessible until 1/1/2024
Objectives:
By the end of the event, participants will be able to:

Recommend simulation-based education using principles of adult learning theory as measured during the think-pair-share activity.

Evaluate simulation-based education for issues with cognitive load and psychological safety as measured during the case study activity.

Discuss the 5 different stages of simulation during the presentation review.

Relate to learners in a simulation scenario and debriefing session as measured on the post-education survey.

Professional Practice Gap:
There is a knowledge gap among healthcare faculty regarding simulation-based education and how to design and implement it.
