Purpose:

The purpose of this activity is to provide education on identifying and treating patients with potential genetic cancer syndromes for the primary provider.

 

Instructions:

Objectives:

• Differentiate somatic genomic tests from germline genetic testing

• Identify barriers to implementing genetic screening within a health system

• Recognize how genetic screening affects managing primary care patients

• Discuss how to apply genetic testing results to patient management

• Identify which patients are appropriate for genetic testing

• Discuss how recent advances in genomics can inform treatment decisions for oncology patients
